Have you ever seen this perfectly round vegetable?
This is the traditional Kishu vegetable, Yuasa eggplant, which has been cultivated in Yuasa since the Taisho era.

This eggplant with its unique shape is said to be the origin of the Kyoto vegetable Kamo eggplant, and is also included in the Yuasa Town specialty [Kinzanji Miso] (o^^o)

Yuasa eggplants are sold out every day at KITTE Osaka's Yua Stroll, which opened at the end of last month.
Yuasa eggplants, which are currently in the peak harvest season, are a summer vegetable that is low in moisture, sweet, and dense so they don't fall apart easily when cooked.When cooked, they have a rich sweetness and a creamy texture.

Although production had decreased for a time, Yuasa eggplant cultivation was revived thanks to the efforts of volunteers from Yuasa.
Because it is a rare variety, it is rarely available on the market, but you can currently purchase it at Yua Sanpo, local greengrocers and farms, so please give it a try (*ﾟ∀ﾟ*)
